Although at Altru we do not have a formal feeding team at this time, we do use a team approach in treating children with feeding difficulties. The primary therapist will seek guidance and input from a variety of other professionals within Altru Health System including: Speech Language Pathologists, Registered Dietitian Nutritionists, Pediatricians, Physical Therapists, and Social Workers. The feeding therapists at Altru Pediatric Therapy Services are trained developmental feeding approaches and can assess and treat children of all ages from birth to the older child. Several therapists are also trained in specific feeding approaches including the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS Approach) to feeding and the Infant Driven Feeding Approach.
