Beyond Function is a pediatric therapy clinic. Our team consists of OT, PT and Speech Therapists. Our feeding approach is called “Thrive Now” and is custom designed for each family and child. We are not behavioral feeding therapists. Treatment style is family centered and the goal is to establish a lifelong positive relationship with food in an environment of compassion and understanding. We also contract with a dietician if there are special dietary conditions due to underlying metabolic issues. We assess and treat sucking, feeding, swallowing and oral aversions that can contribute to a diagnosis of failure to thrive. We treat newborns to school age. Our sensory clinic setting is ideal for treating co-existing sensory disorders. We collaborate with other disciplines in the community such as play therapists who can help treat anxiety disorders that can arise when feeding issues have persisted over time.
