About

Takes2Therapy specializes in providing therapeutic feeding and swallowing services to treat medically complex feeding issues in infants through early childhood, including expertise with failure to thrive and feeding tube weaning protocols, as well as general developmental feeding and early communication concerns in the home setting.ย
Carmen Huston M.A., CCC/SLP, owner/provider, has over 30 years of experience providing therapy services across a variety of settings, from hospital acute care/NICU to outpatient clinics and home-based environments.ย
Carmen utilizes Cue-Based Feeding and the S.O.S (Sensory-Oral-Sequential) developmental approach to feeding along with her expertise in swallowing disorders and evidenced-based Hunger Induction Theory to develop positive, oral feeders. Carmen’s success lies in her ability to address all areas of your child’s feeding issues; physiological, motor, sensory, and behavioral.ย  Her vision is that through parent education/coaching with highly individualized plans of care and close collaboration with patients’ medical providers, your child’s progress toward oral intake can be accelerated and optimized.ย
