About
I have over 20 years of pediatric experience, including 8 years of ICU experience feeding medically fragile and complex infant feeders.
When my oldest was born, he struggled straight out of the gate with breastfeeding. It took six weeks of relentless dedication and a lot of trial and error to get him to feed at breast. He went on to successfully nurse until right before he turned 2 years of age. But around the age of 9 months, he started to become very picky and was eventually left with only 5 or so foods he would eat. After trying many known interventions and strategies, after many sleepless and guilt-filled nights, as well as many meals that ended in disaster and meltdown, he was identified with a severe feeding delay. He had a great feeding therapist that guided us to victory. I am proud to say that he is now 18 years old and eats just about anything. I now happily make his requests, knowing each time how far he has come to get to these simple moments. I feel strongly about paying it forward and helping other families reach these victory moments, particularly those early feeders who may need a little extra nudge in the right direction.
While I do treat children with other feeding concerns across the age ranges, I feel my skills are most useful when working with the youngest of babies and their families
