About

Milestones is a multidisciplinary pediatric rehabilitation center providing physical, occupational and speech therapy services to children of the Rio Grande Valley at our McAllen, TX clinic, in our patients home or most recently expanding statewide via tele-health services. We specialize in sensory processing and neurodevelopmental disorders in children with complex medical needs and have been providing care for over 20 years.

Milestones provides a variety of feeding and swallowing services for children in the Rio Grande Valley area and beyond. Services include feeding-swallowing therapy for children with medically-complex histories with a variety of diagnoses including not limited to: cerebral palsy, gastrointestinal disorders, cerebral vascular accidents, brain-stem tumors, oral reconstruction/cranio-facial anomalies, congenital heart anomalies, complex airway disorders, genetic disorders, traumatic brain injury and patients with tracheostomy/ventilator-dependency. We also provide feeding and swallowing services to infants discharged from the NICU.

Our team provides treatment to patients utilizing a variety of approaches incorporating medical-oral/motor-sensory and behavioral strategies for patients with feeding delays/disorders and gastrostomy-tube dependency. For our patients with oral-pharyngeal dysphagia, we implement swallow rehabilitation strategies with evidence-based techniques combining both strengthening and skills training as appropriate.ย  Additionally, we utilize mobile imaging video flouroscopy on site to assess your child’s swallowing.ย  Our therapists work collaboratively with our medical director and your child’s care team to coordinate their care.ย  Referring providers include cardiologistss, gastroenterologists, neonatologists, oncologists, otolaryngologists, pulmonologists, plastic surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, geneticist, and rehabilitation physicians.

Your child is very important to us and we look forward to getting to know you. Helping him or her reach their full potential is our mission.
