About

Nosh & Nourish Therapy is an occupational therapy feeding practice, serving ages 2-18, founded on the idea of supporting positive, strengths-based, and family-centered services to help children and families thrive during, and around, mealtimes. Our mission is: “FOOD. FUN. FUNCTION. We strive to improve function by utilizing relationships and fun to create positive experiences with food.”
Feeding/eating skills are utilized each and every day, for nourishment, survival, enjoyment, connection, and quality time. Feeding is also one of the only activities that uses every sensory system in the human body, and can be impacted by a wide range of factors (medical, motor, emotional, developmental, nutritional, learning, sensory, and more) making it incredibly complex to understand and treat. It is my job to unravel the underlying factors of your child’s eating challenges, help you to understand them, and work with the family as a unit to help your child not only survive, but thrive. Many families, understandably, describe mealtimes with a picky eater as a fight or a struggle, and my goal is decrease the stress and challenge for all involved. Utilizing a strengths- and play-based approach, I help a child build positive experiences around food and learn how to help themselves through discomfort or novelty so they can go forth feeling empowered by the skills to confidently handle whatever comes their way.
At Nosh & Nourish Therapy, we utilize a “burst” model of treatment. This means that each family is asked to commit to a 14-week burst of therapy services. Within this time, we will work towards the goals outlined at the conclusion of your feeding evaluation. Services will include a mix of in-clinic direct treatment, 1-2 home visits, and parent education/coaching (virtual), as decided upon with your provider. Feeding therapy is a commitment, from a time, mental, and emotional standpoint, for both the child and the family as a whole. This model is intended to provide manageable chunks of treatment, where all involved can fully participate. Within the last 4 weeks of your therapy burst, you will discuss next steps, which may include: another burst of treatment, transition to consultative services, discharge from services, or a break.
