The Airplane Spoon – Feeding, Communicology, and Developmental Services, Inc.

The Airplane Spoon provides a family-centered approach to supporting pediatric feeding disorders and natural feeding development.  This model is based on the belief that “there is power in family connection.”  Our comprehensive approach includes assessing and supporting the integration of internal systems, sensory, oral-motor, and social-relationships in feeding and mealtimes. We utilize evidence-based and innovative practices of growth mindset, intrinsic motivation, self-reflection, and positive/strengths-based development. Our team primarily specializes in supporting the early years (birth to six) to establish a solid family-centered foundation. Services range from supporting natural progression of new feeding skills as a child develops (transitioning from breast/bottle to cups, transitioning to foods, mealtime routines, etc.) as well as supporting more complex and therapeutic needs (tube-fed, dysphagia, oral-motor differences, sensory-based needs, emotional-behavioral feeding challenges, etc.).
